Team Description

The Wigner Research Centre for Physics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences was founded on 1st January, 2012, by the merging of two former research institutes, the Research Institute for Particle and Nuclear Physics, and the Research Institute for Solid State Physics and Optics of the H.A.S.

The mission of the Research Centre is to pursue exploratory experimental physics research using domestic and international research equipments, do theoretical physics research, coordinate Hungarian efforts in international research, and support the development of the nation by the utilization of research results.

There are 40 research groups in the Research Centre at the moment, their fields of research spread on many areas of physics, biophysics, computer technics and chemistry.

The Holographic QFT group works on quantum field theories and their relations to integrable models, mathematical physics, gravity and lattice gauge theories. Special emphasis is put on the integrable aspects of the AdS/CFT correspondence.

More information is available on the webpage of the group.
